New Delhi [India]: Indian GT Racer and tech entrepreneur Akshay Gupta is all set to make history as he becomes the second Indian driver to participate in the prestigious Dubai 24 Hours race. Following in the footsteps of renowned Indian actor Ajith Kumar, who previously made waves by returning to professional racing at Dubai 24 Hours, Gupta is gearing up for an exciting challenge. The 2025 edition of the race is set to feature a total of 65 cars across 6 different classes, marking the 20th staging of 24H Dubai at the Dubai Autodrome. Gupta will be representing the German racing team, asBest Racing, driving a Seat Cupra Leon TCR car in the TCE Class. The race will test the endurance and skill of the drivers as they navigate the challenging 24-hour format in a relay style, swapping turns behind the wheel. Expressing his excitement for the upcoming challenge, Akshay Gupta shared, "I wanted to do this race back in 2016 and when the opportunity came knocking from asBest Racing, I didn't think twice. The TCR car is a step up from the production cars I usually race in the Nurburgring Endurance Championship, offering more power, lighter weight, and increased downforce. This will be my first full 24-hour race, setting the stage for the 2025 NLS championship scheduled for March end!" With a mix of anticipation and determination, Gupta is all set to represent India on the global racing stage at the Dubai 24 Hours, aiming for a memorable performance in the challenging endurance race.
