The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack witnessed a remarkable feat by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma during the second ODI against England on Sunday (February 9). Keeping his cool and avoiding any distractions, Rohit made a sensational comeback with a magnificent score of 119 off just 90 balls.

After a dry spell in red-ball cricket since September, Rohit Sharma silenced any doubts about his white-ball form with his 32nd ODI century—a blistering 76-ball knock, the second fastest of his career. His third ODI ton played a crucial role in India’s four-wicket victory, giving them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
During the match, Rohit Sharma remained determined to silence his critics and stayed focused throughout his innings. A viral clip from India’s batting shows the 37-year-old captain losing his cool at the stadium DJ after music started playing while he was trying to communicate with the non-striker.
The incident occurred shortly after the match resumed following a long delay, during the 7th over of the game. At that point, Rohit was on 29, and India had scored 48 runs. For those unfamiliar, the match experienced a lengthy delay due to a floodlight malfunction. The play was halted for over 30 minutes as authorities worked to fix the issue, with players heading back to the dressing room during the break.

As for the match itself, England won the toss and chose to bat, posting a total of 304 runs, with half-centuries from Ben Duckett and Joe Root. In response, Rohit Sharma formed a solid 136-run partnership with Shubman Gill, who provided excellent support with a quickfire 60 off 52 balls. Despite early dismissals of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer (44) and Axar Patel (41*) ensured that India successfully chased down the target with 5.3 overs to spare.
